If you have already been audited and disagree with the proposed changes, do not sign the audit examination report. The IRS will provide you 30 days to file an Appeal to contest the results of the audit. This process is done with the Appeals Division. An Appeal is very technical and takes the form of a legal brief. We can assist you in this process.
If the 30 day right to Appeals has expired, the IRS will send you a notice of deficiency. If you disagree with the changes made, you will have 90 days to respond to the notice of deficiency by filing a tax court petition. We can assist you in preparing and filing a tax court petition.
